Oculus VR CEO, Brandan Iribe, announced that the company will soon release a new version of a prototype of Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. Details have not been yet specified. However, it is very likely that the model will receive a 1080p resolution as well as reduced latency. For now, the company is preparing to launch its new model (possibly this or next year).
Recently Facebook bought Oculus VR for $2 billion. Many regarded the move as a veiled attempt to impose Facebook services on users, and generally reacted to the transaction with disbelief. In turn, Mark Zuckerberg said that Oculus VR will remain independent, but will also receive the necessary funds for the full launches of its products. Before acquisition all funding was provided by clients and private investors.
