Former Senior Producer at PopCap Games, Bernard Yee, officially joined Oculus VR several days ago. During his employment at PopCap Games he was responsible for Plants vs. Zombies 2 project. Yee also worked upon EverQuest (Sony Online Entertainment’s), Harmonix, Atari, and Bungie.
Yee himself has told that a turning point in his decision to accept Oculus VR’s offer was Valve’s virtual reality room, which was demonstrated earlier in January. “I was really blown away by the level of emotional reaction I had to the demo,” Yee said. “The virtual reality technology was immersive and made you feel present in a way that games have never done.”
Valve itself announced earlier that it is not planning to launch its own virtual reality headset, but instead to cooperate with Oculus VR in this direction. Previously we have reported about a team of talented developers who were already hired by Oculus VR – Adrian Wong, John Carmack, Jason Rubin and many others.
