Oculus VR, being talked about more and more every day, is preparing a final consumer version of its Rift headset. So far, all the samples introduced to the public had quite a lot of wires that were easy to be missed. However, they say the consumer version is likely to be wireless or at least have a minimal number of wires.
Paul Mueller, an Industry Analyst from Los Angeles, shared his thoughts on the subject. “I attended a private Virtual Reality Conference here in San Diego and there were several people who talked about the final version of the Oculus Rift. One of them actually helped create the Oculus Rift Development Kit 1. They say that the Oculus Rift will be completely wireless. It will require an HDMI connection, but that will be from a wireless transmitter”. Mueller has also expressed confidence regarding the release date of Oculus Rift. He is convinced May 2015 is going to be the month the mankind will enter the era of virtual reality.
Oculus Rift is leading the ratings of the most discussing themes for many months at a row. The future product is going to be a loud sensation not only in gaming industry. Apart from video games developers many film studios and professionals in different areas let alone individual amateurs already try to forecast how virtual reality will influence their activities. The headset is expected to become the hit of the sales after the commercial release. A total number of 60 000 pre-orders for a DevKit 2 is a bright confirmation of this.
